Located to the south of the arctic tundra are the boreal forests or taiga. The animals that live there can be combined into three groups. They are herbivores so in alpine tundras they can find grass sedge herbs shrubs ferns mosses and lichen to eat.
The hooves of the goat are a rubbery bone still strong but bendy. Few alpine animals however contributed directly to the evolution of Arctic tundra species because physical barriers prevented the migration of species and because alpine and Arctic animals were specialized to. The arctic animal also adapted for extreme conditions of polar region.
The Mountain goat is also a Alpine Tundra animal. Animals found in the tundra include the musk ox the arctic hare the polar bear the arctic fox the caribou and the snowy owl. Tundra is a biome or type of environment which is characterized as treeless cold and relatively dry.
